
The Programmes Area consists of the trading station, hair cut station, acupuncture room and alteration room. These programmes are created based on the skills that the elderly have acquired in the past before moving to the Senior Group Home.

As the elderly have a habit of hoarding, the trading station is a place where they can trade goods for things that they need. Somethings include supermarket vouchers which would help them in purchasing household items or groceries.

With the toilet nearby the cooking and eating area, green walls that would aid in absorbing unwanted foul smell has been introduced.

The Elderly in Singapore: Past
As Singapore emphasises on the importance of ageing-in-place within the ageing population, it is paramount to take precaution for the elderly in Singapore that are living alone. Some difficulties that include social, physical and emotional difficulties play huge roles in the lives of the vulnerable population. Aiming to aid the difficulties, lives of these Elderly are looked into through the projects within different time frames and methodologies.

Focusing on the more vulnerable population in Singapore, Elderly Living Alone looks into the lives of Elderly who are living in the Housing and Development Board (HDB) Public Rental Flats that has existed since 1960s. The project aims to bring the vulnerable population of North Bridge Road together through the design of common spaces like the Community Kitchen and Programmes Area which are sources of tangible support to the elderly. With abundance input into each space, these spaces can come into use through their daily lives, enhancing the way they live.
